Bryan Eccleshall: Audit
Since taking a studio at Bloc in 2017 Bryan Eccleshall has developed a painting practice which he finds overwhelming, rich, colourful, and baffling. AUDIT is a chance for him to move the work from his studio and to step back and take stock.
Many of the canvasses on display have been given to Bryan by other artists, or rescued from piles of work discarded by people leaving studios, resulting in complex, messy surfaces. Others are simply worked and reworked and reworked. When the light glances across them, ghosts can be seen.
AUDIT is on display at Bloc's 'Meanwhile' space, above the EE shop on The Moor throughout July. It's up a flight of stairs with no lift. Sorry.
If you would like to see the work, keep an eye on Bryan's social media profiles as you need to be let into the space and he won't be there every day at regular times.
There will be an opening event on Tuesday 5th July between 5 and 8pm.
