Curatorial Statement December 2020

We would like to share our latest Curatorial Statement from our Director, David McLeavy, which reflects on the challenges of the past 6 months, the way the pandemic has shifted our perspective and some important news about 2021 and beyond.

Here are a couple of excerpts:

”We have been asking important questions about the support that we currently offer artists and collaborators and how we can make this even more thorough. We are also trying to build a method of working that is flexible enough to accommodate everyone’s needs and the challenges that face us as we transition out of this immediate COVID-19 centred landscape.”

“Another change for 2021 will be within our team itself. As of March next year, I will be stepping down as the Director to pursue another role elsewhere. Bloc Projects has been a home for me for the last 4 years, and the artists, collaborators, team and community that surrounds the organisations have supported me no end and for that I am forever grateful.”
