We are delighted to present a cross-section of work by practitioners who are part of Bloc Projects’ Members Scheme. Our guest selector this year is Mala Yamey, who had this to say about her selection process:

It was an honour to be invited to be this year’s guest selector for the Bloc Projects Members Show. With the strength of all applications received, I had very difficult decisions to make but a very enjoyable task ahead. The works that I’ve selected all stood out to me for multiple different reasons thinking through ideas of play, fairy tales, human and non-human interactions, and research-led processes: from playful sculptural installations by Jack Lewdjaw and Victoria Sharples; fairy tale interpretations of industrial action by Sally Barton; intimate photographs by Marina Yoshinari; and innovative ways of decolonising collections by Heavy Water. The wide variety of the selected works exemplifies the breadth of talent within Bloc Projects’ Members Scheme.
