We recently visited Birmingham on a short research trip to introduce our two graduate residents Damien Fisher and Lucy Lound to a few of the most exciting spaces within the city.

Following on from the trip both Damien and Lucy penned some words that reflected on our visit, exploring the places we walked and the feeling of the city. You can read Damien and Lucy’s words below.

Damien and Lucy were awarded a place on the Fine Art Bridge Scheme 2018/19 (FABS).

The scheme offers 8 recent graduates a year long paid residency within a range of arts organisations across the city, including Bloc Projects, S1 Artspace, Sheffield Museums and Site Gallery. The programme was generously supported by Sheffield Hallam University and formed part of Making Ways, a programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.
