Eile {Border-Fictioning}: a place of their own

1 - 30 July

Launch Event: Thu 30 Jun, 6-8pm

Free & open to all

Eile {Border-Fictioning} is the long-term work on sovereign borders by Sheffield-based artist duo a place of their own. Exploring the Irish and UK relationship, the programme comprises conversations as well as an immersive, otherworldly exhibition at Bloc Projects of sound, film and a special performance on the opening night. The programme falls under the artists’ broader project Eile, which looks at global identity and citizenship, movement and migration through the lens of Ireland’s partition. While it is rooted in personal and political histories, the programme also speaks to the lived border experiences of other diasporic communities in the UK.
