In October 2018, Bloc Projects organised an international research trip to Bergen, Norway, with the idea of exploring the similarities and difference between the arts ecosystems that exist within Sheffield and Bergen. Four artists and curators along with a member of the Bloc Projects team spent 5 days in the city visiting art spaces, meeting studio groups, attending events and exchanging ideas. Common conversations centred around cultural infrastructures, funding support, collective organisation and international relationships, specifically with Europe.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to all of the artists who took the time to host us and for spending time with us during studio visits.
