Bloc Projects is pleased to present a two-person exhibition by emerging Sheffield based artists Lindsey Mendick and Sara Pinfold.

Meeting while undergraduates studying Contemporary Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University in 2008, the artists have developed a shared interest in nostalgic interiors, debauched design and sculpture in the home. Marking their first two person exhibition together, Bound, Part I brings together a new body of sculptural works made from materials that are commonly associated with the domestic environment, created by the artists in dialogue.

With individual practices collectively comprising found objects, hand-turned and hand-painted ceramics, manipulated utilitarian and decorative materials and compositions of found images, Mendick and Pinfold often employ intentionally gaudy or ostentatious elements and pop culture references. Drawing upon the diversity of stylistic influences that can be found mapped onto everyday household items, the exhibition reflects upon taste, design provenance and value.
